Frequently Asked Questions

I offer in-person sessions in Boise. My office is located at:

1043 E Park Blvd., Suite 101
Boise, ID 83712

Yes, I offer online therapy for clients in Idaho, Ohio, and Nebraska. Coaching and consultation are available nationwide.

Online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions. The difference is really about where you feel most comfortable.

Using a secure video platform, we meet in a focused, private space, and you get the same attentive, steady presence and guidance as in my office. Many clients find it helps them reflect more deeply and bring the work into their daily life.

Just reach out. Call me at (208) 309-2642 or send an email, and we’ll schedule a brief consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

From there, we find a time that works for you. Your first session is the place to explore what’s most pressing, what you want to understand better, and how we can start building clarity and forward momentum together.

A free consultation is a brief phone call where you can share a little about what brings you here and I can answer any questions about how I work.

It’s a low-pressure conversation to see whether we’re a good fit before you commit to anything.

To schedule one, call me at (208) 309-2642.

If you’re reading this, you’re already considering it, and that’s usually the clearest sign.

Therapy isn’t about fixing everything instantly. It’s about gaining clarity, building steadiness, and learning a new way to relate to yourself.

You don’t need a “serious issue” or a perfect explanation. What matters most is willingness: to show up, explore, and notice patterns in ways that feel authentic.

If you’re using insurance, part of the process may include a formal diagnosis, but that’s just a step in the paperwork. The real work is about understanding yourself and creating lasting growth.

Every session is tailored to you. Sometimes structured, sometimes exploratory.

You’ll find it steady, attuned, and clarifying. I listen to both what you say and what lingers beneath the surface, and help you move from insight to real traction.

One hour. Long enough to dig deep, short enough to keep it focused and impactful.

They overlap, but each has a distinct purpose:

* Therapy explores patterns, emotions, and experiences to build resilience and self-understanding.

* Coaching is goal-oriented and action-focused. We map what matters to you and plan steps to get there.

* Consultation leverages my expertise to provide recommendations for complex challenges, whether personal, professional, or organizational.

Many clients experience a blend: therapy to process, coaching to act, and consultation for precision. The work is fluid, responsive, and tailored to your needs.

Absolutely. Awareness makes the work more rewarding.

Therapy isn’t about adding strategies. It’s about refining how you engage with yourself, your relationships, and your life.

Yes. I have extensive experience with both visible and invisible conditions, and I genuinely enjoy the complexity this brings.

Sessions are tailored to your pace. You won’t be rushed, reduced to a label, or expected to perform.

Instead, we focus on strategies, clarity, and resilience that fit your life.

There’s no universal timeline. Some shifts are subtle and immediate; others unfold gradually.

Real change happens when you start relating to yourself differently, not when a problem disappears. That’s the kind of growth that lasts.

I combine cognitive-behavioral precision with trauma-informed care, existential insight, and person-centered presence. Beyond techniques, it’s about how we apply them to you: carefully, responsively, and without rushing.

The result is post-traumatic growth that feels earned, not forced.

With focus, patience, and understanding. My experience as a brain tumor survivor has refined my ability to sit with uncertainty, pain, and transformation.

You won’t be rushed, judged, or expected to perform. You’ll be met with careful, attuned attention.

Only when it matters. Anything outside the session should feel purposeful, not like busywork.

Yes. I’m directly paneled in Idaho with Blue Cross of Idaho, St. Luke’s Health Plans, Select Health, PacificSource, and Mountain Health Co-op.

Adolescents through adults.

I make exceptions for children who have a lot to say and want to be heard.

I hold a Master’s in Education in Rehabilitation Counseling and Human Services from the University of Idaho, along with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Life Care Planning from Capital University Law School.

My training combines trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and depth-oriented approaches, giving me a foundation to support clients with complexity, insight, and practical strategies for growth.

I’m a licensed therapist in Idaho (LCPC), Minnesota (LPC), Nebraska (LIMHP, LMHP, CPC), and Ohio (LPCC). I also provide life coaching in every state where I work.

This allows me to integrate therapy, coaching, and consultation seamlessly, tailoring support to your unique goals and needs.

Only if that’s your style. Most sessions are face-to-face, sitting in a comfortable chair, or online in a way that works for you.

Yes. You’ll want to settle in, but not so much that you fall asleep.

Optional, but emotional breakthroughs are always waterproof.

Soft, reliable, and ready for tears of all kinds.

Absolutely. You can ask about my approach, experience, and even my quirks.

Don’t expect me to overshare, though. This space is about you.

Always Spock. Logic wins… most of the time.

Dogs. More portable, perfect hiking buddies, and somehow they get me more than cats do.
